Job Summary
Location: Great Falls MT (Onsite initially then Remote/Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (Contract-to-Hire)
We are seeking an experienced Accountant III to join a leading healthcare system. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can take ownership of key financial operations support audits and budgeting processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position requires an initial onsite presence for 2 3 weeks with flexibility for remote or hybrid work thereafter.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger (GL) cash management and fixed assets
- Support month-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Assist in financial reporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare and support internal and external audits
- Handle tax filings and compliance requirements
- Work with Workday Financials modules (GL Cash Fixed Assets Treasury)
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
- Collaborate with finance teams and other departments to improve processes
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and organizational policies
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience (preferably in healthcare or large organizations)
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials (GL Cash Fixed Assets Treasury)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience with financial reporting audits and tax processes
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in healthcare finance/accounting
- Prior experience in a contract-to-hire or dynamic environment
- CPA or CPA-track (nice to have)
