Position: Research Associate/ Research Engineer

Position Summary:
The Research Associate will be primarily responsible for inorganic characterization of SG raw materials and products using techniques such as XRF ICP-OES CHNS and Ion Chromatography (IC). The role demands strong expertise in XRF including method development calibration and instrument troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced inorganic analysis using XRF ICP-OES CHNS and IC.
- Lead method development calibration protocols and troubleshooting for XRF and other analytical instruments.
- Ensure instruments are well-maintained and coordinate repairs with service personnel.
- Adapt analytical approaches for a wide range of materials and applications.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain’s data management norms.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate findings clearly.
- Plan and prioritize daily lab activities with minimal supervision.
- Maintain lab cleanliness safety and compliance with chemical handling and disposal regulations.
- Advocate for behavior-based safety and responsible lab practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety waste management inventory and 5S standards.
Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
- ./ MTech in Chemistry/ Ceramics/ Construction materials with 2–5 years of experience in inorganic chemistry preferably in an R&D or QC lab.
- Hands-on experience in XRF and/or ICP-OES is essential.
Specific Skills / Personal Attributes:
- Strong expertise in XRF operation method development and instrument troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and diverse teams.
- Strong analytical thinking problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic statistics and data interpretation tools.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to complex workflows.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
