- Base Salary: From $80171.00 (Grade 12 Step 1) per annum
- Plus: 12% superannuation
- Total Package: $89791.52 per annum
The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

The Opportunity
Strathfield Council is seeking a creative Digital Communications Officer to enhance our digital presence and connect with the this role you will produce engaging content (particularly video) and manage social media channels to promote Council programs and initiatives. Working collaboratively across teams you will help deliver clear timely and impactful communications.
What You Will Be Doing
- Create digital content Plan film and edit engaging video along with photography and written content to promote Council initiatives.
- Manage social media channels Develop schedule and publish tailored content across platforms including Facebook Instagram LinkedIn YouTube and X.
- Capture content in the field - Attend events and work on-site with teams to gather real-time authentic content
- Collaborate across Council Work with internal stakeholders to identify stories and ensure consistent accurate messaging.
- Monitor performance Track analytics and use insights to improve engagement reach and overall digital effectiveness.
- Support communications activities Assist the Communications and Events team with campaigns and day-to-day delivery as required.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification an/or experience in digital / social media content creation and /or communications and digital marketing.
- Demonstrated experience delivering monitoring and evaluating digital communications plan / campaign with web social and other digital analytics and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience using a variety of software to produce content suited to a range of digital formats and diverse audiences including video and other content for social media web and online publishing.
- Experience building positive perceptions for an organisation through the development and implementation of a digital communications campaign that uses emerging technologies across the implementation.
- Ability to design and develop digital communications strategies that align to broader communications and campaign strategies.
- Creativity and ability to develop compelling content that tells a story.
- Understanding of and ability to utilise data and analytics functions to provide reports evaluations and commentary on the effectiveness of paid and organic social media activity.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) able to deliver to a variety of audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Work collaboratively with Communications and Events team members to ensure the delivery of seamless and professional communications services for all areas of Council.
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings as required.

- Experience working in Local Government.
