POSITION OVERVIEW
The Dietary Aide II position is responsible for the pleasant meal service to residents staff and visitors. This position is also responsible for preparation of food items as specified room service guest and dining room meals and maintaining a continual upkeep and sanitation of the kitchen area and equipment.
This position is accountable to the Dining Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES of a Dietary Aide II (not meant to be an all inclusive list)
- Prepares food items as specified at each kitchen/household.
- Provides dining service in a prompt and courteous manner in the dining room according to menu modified diets and individual needs.
- Responsible for clean-up sanitation trash and linen removal and assist with clearing and resetting of the dining room for the following meals.
- Accurately labels stores food and records equipment and food temperatures per protocol.
- Takes inventory and replenishes supplies in the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing locations.
- Assures cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen area including refrigerator freezer and storeroom.
- Washes and sanitizes of dishware silverware glassware and pots and pans with proper storage of clean dishes.
- Communicates promptly with the Dining Services leadership any concerns that pertains to residents visitors co-workers or the operation of the Dining Services department.
- Performs all required duties as directed and follow department/shift policies procedures and practices.
- Attends staff development sessions for growth and development as an Oakwood team member as well as to meets regulatory standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Basic knowledge of food service sanitation and health care food service.
- Exercises independent judgment and makes sound decisions.
- Performs job responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
- Learns and applies methods techniques and procedures necessary for the position.
- Plans organizes and prioritizes work load during shifts.
- Provides exceptional customer service and communicates effectively with the residents.
- Works in a partnership environment which fosters effective teamwork.
