This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) iflocatedin the Washington DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports tothe Director of Revenue Resourcesand is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:

Product Offering Development

• Partner with advancement program and finance teams to developcomplexrestricted product offerings and secure organizational approval for external use.

• Ensure complex restricted product offerings match programmatic priorities and align with funding needs.

• Partner with advancement teams toidentifyphilanthropic themes such as womens empowerment and climate change and partner with program teams toidentifynexus with IJMs work to develop specialized complex restricted gift opportunities.

• Serve as a consulting partner with advancement teams to vet funding opportunities and to assess if there is a pre-approved product offering that might be a good fit or if a custom offering is needed.

• Partner with the Product Specialist roles and the global marketing team to package the complex restricted offerings.

• Ensure that all partiesadvancement programs and financeare alignedonthe general direction of complex restricted products andeach specific offering.

• Develop system for advancement teams toleveragecomplex restricted product offerings while not pitching the same opportunity to multiple prospective investors.

Oversight & Compliance

• Manage a portfolio ofcomplexrestricted gifts.

• Interpret donor agreements and restrictions to ensure proper implementation tracking and fund usage.

• In collaboration with Global Finance and regional teamsmonitorexpenditures and balances to confirm alignment with donor intent institutionalpolicyand regulatory standards.

• In collaboration with Global Finance and regional teamsidentifyresearchand resolve compliance issues related to restricted funds including under- or over-spending lapsed restrictions or ambiguous donor terms.

Reporting & Donor Stewardship

• Facilitate detailed financial andimpactreports for donors leadership and internal stakeholders ensuring accuracy and clarity in partnership with Product Development Specialists.

• Support donor stewardship efforts by translating financial activity into donor-ready narratives and summaries.

• Respond to donor inquiriesregardingfund performance balances and the use of restricted contributions.

• Support Relationship Owners in early identificationscreeningand verification when donor opportunities present possible complex restrictions.

• Serve as a liaison between Relationship Owners and key regional Global Finance and program staff in confirming alignment with program plans and budgets and in completingtimelydocumentation of key information needed for the go/no go decision-making process.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Fundraising Finance Legal Grants Resources and Program teams to ensure consistent interpretation and execution of gift restrictions.

• Providesubject-matterexpertiseon restricted gift administration during gift acceptance agreement drafting and post-award implementation.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries related to restricted contributions.

Systems Controls & Process Improvement

• Maintainaccuraterecords of restricted gifts within financialdonorand grant management systems.

• Develop and refine internal controls procedures and best practices related to restricted gift management.

• Identifyopportunities to improve efficiencyreportingand compliance through process enhancements or system improvements.

Guidance & Training

• Serve as a resource to internal teams on restricted gift policy compliancerequirementsand best practices.

• Assistin developing training materials or guidance related to restricted gift administration and donor compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration Nonprofit Management or a related field;

• 5-7yearsof experience in fundraising grant management restricted fund accounting gift administration ora relatedrole;

• Strong understanding of fundraising and donor cultivation;

• Experience in higher education healthcare or nonprofit organizations with complex gift portfolios;

• Strong understanding of donor restrictions fund accounting and financial reporting principles;

• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex legal or donor agreements and translate them into operational requirements;

• High levelof attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences;

• Experience within international development sector preferred;

• Experience serving cross-cultural audiences preferred;

• Donor intent and compliance stewardship;

• Financial and regulatory reporting; and

• Process improvement.
