Job Summary:
The Director of Major Gifts strengthens Hope Media Groups fundraising by cultivating and stewarding relationships with high-capacity donors while leading efforts that increase major gift revenue and donor engagement. This role manages a portfolio of about 100-125 major donors and develops individualized engagement strategies that connect donor passions with Hope Media Groups brands initiatives and ministry impact. The Director identifies opportunities for transformational giving planned gifts and long-term partnerships that advance the mission of Hope Media Group. The Director also provides spiritual encouragement and ministry leadership to donors helping cultivate a culture of generosity in support of Hope Media Groups ministry.
Essential Functions:
Major Donor Portfolio Management:
- Lead the development and growth of HMGs Major donor program including portfolio structure engagement strategy and revenue goals.
- Provide leadership coaching and accountability for Donor Advisors to ensure effective donor portfolio management and meaningful donor engagement.
- Ensure Donor Advisors maintain accurate donor records engagement plans and activity tracking within the CRM.
- Analyze portfolio performance and donor trends to identify opportunities for increased donor retention upgrades and long-term partnerships.
- Conduct regular donor engagement through in-person visits phone calls handwritten notes and personal communication.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for major gifts planned giving and endowment contributions.
- Facilitate meaningful donor experiences such as tours ministry updates and special events.
- Provide spiritual care to donors including praying with donors when appropriate.
Major Gift Strategy Leadership & Donor Insights:
- Develop strategies that strengthen major donor engagement and increase philanthropic investment
- Partner with Donor Engagement leadership to identify high-capacity donor opportunities and funding priorities.
- Develop and maintain individualized donor engagement plans aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities.
- Partner with Donor Experience leaders to identify high-capacity donors & create clear pathways for movement into major giving portfolios when appropriate.
- Share relevant donor insights feedback and outcomes to support broader Donor Experience planning and reporting.
Demonstrated Faith:

- Grounded spiritually and Biblically literate
- Comfortable praying for co-workers in team meetings leading spoken prayer and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies
- Live Christian principles defined by the Ministry Statement of Faith
- Participate in on-air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed
- Passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship
- Exhibit a strong moral character
- Active member of a Bible believing local church

Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 7-10 years of non-profit fundraising or development experience
- Demonstrated success securing and growing major gifts
- Experience managing high-capacity donor relationship
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Heart for Christian ministry
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and strong moral character.
- Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture.
- Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
- Strong understanding of major gift fundraising principles and donor cultivations strategies.
- Ability to build authentic trust-based relationships with donors.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify opportunities for transformational giving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with CRM reporting tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Immediate supervision of a small group of employees. Recommends candidates for hiring termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews and applies company policies.
