Job Summary

1) Job Purpose

To support KAM account growth by providing technical and commercial expertise in aluminum extrusions for EV platforms. The role involves RFQ coordination customer interaction and internal collaboration with all respective CFT.

Hindalco is one of the leading aluminium companies in India with a significant presence in downstream business. The global automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation driven by electrification lightweighting and stricter sustainability goals. As OEMs aggressively expand their Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolios the demand for high-performance lightweight materials such as aluminium extrusions is ever growing in each vehicle.

In this dynamic environment the Sales Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Key Account manager by bridging the gap between customer requirements and internal capabilities. The position is strategically positioned to manage technical and commercial interactions for aluminium extrusion components used in EV platformsincluding battery enclosures crash management systems and body structures and many components as the market opportunities are identified.

The role demands close coordination with engineering manufacturing quality and supply chain functions to ensure timely program execution competitive RFQ responses and superior customer experience. It also requires a proactive approach in handling customer queries understanding evolving EV technologies and contributing to long-term business growth with in both domestic and global markets.

3) Key Result Areas/Accountabilities:

Supporting Actions

Customer & Program Management

  • Serve as the primary support interface for engineering and purchasing teams for aluminium extrusion-based EV components (e.g. battery enclosures crash management systems structural parts).

RFQ & Costing Support

  • Assist in evaluating RFQs by collecting internal feasibility inputs (design tooling process).
  • Coordinate with costing supply chain and manufacturing teams to collate the data.
  • Maintain and update quotation trackers and price revision logs.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain program status reports sales forecasts and internal review decks.
  • Support APQP deliverables to all related to sales for each gate and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage specific systems/portals for program updates and compliance.

Quality & Logistics Interface

  • Assist in coordinating part deliveries for proto builds service orders and SOP ramp-ups.
  • Track the costs at each stage

Coordination with CFT and MFG plant

  • Communicate customer updates in terms of price updates and back-to-dated amendments to support smooth recovery of costs incurred.

Sales Forecasting and Planning

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and plans to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align sales forecasts with budgetary goals.
