Job Title: Patient Care Associate (PCA) / CNA
Location: New York NY 10003
Duration: 8 Weeks (Contract)
Job Summary
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) is a key member of the healthcare team providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient-centered care by assisting with daily activities supporting clinical procedures and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure pulse temperature respiration)
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing feeding toileting and mobility
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as specimen collection venipuncture EKGs and application of compression devices
- Assist with patient positioning ambulation and overall comfort
- Maintain accurate documentation including intake/output pain levels and rounding logs
- Support dietary needs including meal delivery and monitoring intake
- Ensure a clean safe and organized patient environment
- Provide one-to-one observation for patients requiring close monitoring (safety or behavioral needs)
- Transport patients specimens and equipment as required
- Respond promptly to patient call systems and assist visitors professionally
- Assist with patient admissions discharges and documentation updates
- Support nursing and clinical staff with additional duties as assigned
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or AHA HeartSaver certification required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent CNA experience in a hospital setting (required)
- Prior clinical or direct patient care experience preferred
