Job Summary

Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage need

Start Date: June 15

Openings: 1

Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search

Practice Setting:

  • Outpatient Clinic
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Working with Hematology/Oncology patients
    • Managing patients in the infusion suite
    • Managing in-basket and responding to patients on lab results
    • Working with Navigator to triage calls
    • No rounding required
  • Average 10 PPD

Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday 8:00a-5:00p
  • May be able to accommodate three 10-hour shifts per week

Patient Population: Adult Geriatric

EMR: EPIC

Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements:

  • Active Oregon licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Hematology/Oncology experience or equivalent


Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Skills:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
  • Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team


Requirements

Education:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g. family practice adult-gerontology pediatrics)
  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Oregon
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners AANP)
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Oregon
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Experience:

  • While specific requirements may vary most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
