We are looking for an experienced tech-savvy Mid-Level Accountant to manage our internal finances and act as a product expert helping our clients successfully adopt our software solutions.
Role Summary
As our In-House Accountant you will be the backbone of our financial operations managing everything from day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll to complex financial analysis and statutory compliance. Because we are a software provider this role goes beyond traditional accounting. You will leverage your mandatory expertise in Zoho Books to assist in onboarding and training our customers ensuring they get the most out of our accounting and payroll products.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Accounting & Financial Management:
Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain accurate up-to-date books of accounts and supporting documentation entirely within Zoho Books.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts cash flow statements and detailed variance analyses.
Treasury & Banking: Manage bank accounts petty cash bank reconciliations and foreign exchange (FX) transactions.
Accounts Payable/Purchases: Manage vendors ensure timely processing of supplier invoices and execute payments.
Payroll Processing: Handle internal payroll calculations and timely disbursements.
Financial Analysis: Monitor company cost-effectiveness and proactively recommend cost-saving and efficiency initiatives.
Audit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors to prepare and finalize the annual audited financial statements.
Compliance & Taxation:
Coordinate and process all statutory filings and ensure strict tax compliance across all applicable jurisdictions.
Manage monthly and annual remittances including PAYE NSSF NHIF/SHIF Withholding Tax (WHT) and corporate tax returns.
Client Onboarding & Training (Product Expertise):
Act as the in-house product expert for Zoho Books and our payroll software.
Lead client onboarding sessions configuring the software to meet their specific business needs.
Conduct training sessions for customers teaching them how to effectively navigate and utilize Zoho Books and the payroll systems.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 35 years of progressive experience in accounting finance or a similar role.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on verifiable experience with Zoho Books is a strict requirement.
Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field. (CPA-K or ACCA qualification is highly preferred).
Compliance Knowledge: Strong up-to-date understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory deductions (KRA NSSF NHIF/SHIF).
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting software concepts to non-technical customers clearly.
Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with a strong aptitude for financial analysis and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities Zoho Implementation & Development Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation using Zoho applications. Customize and implement Zoho CRM Zoho Creator Zoho Books Zoho Projects Zoho Desk and other Zoho apps based on client needs. Develop workflows automation blueprints and custom functions using Deluge scripting. Integrate Zoho applications with third-party systems via API. Provide Zoho training sessions for clients and internal teams. Troubleshoot and resolve Zoho-related issues. Maintain Zoho applications ensuring optimal performance and updates. WordPress Development & Maintenance (Preferred) Design develop and maintain WordPress websites. Customize WordPress themes and plugins as per client requirements. Implement on-page SEO best practices for WordPress sites. Perform website security checks backups and updates. Troubleshoot WordPress issues and optimize website performance. Technical Support & Training Provide technical support for Zoho applications and WordPress websites. Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on Zoho products and WordPress CMS. Assist with data migration integrations and automation solutions. Stay up to date with Zoho updates and WordPress trends to improve solutions. Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Zoho applications (Zoho CRM Zoho Books etc.). Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to recommend and implement Zoho solutions. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and training skills to educate clients and internal teams. Experience in WordPress development and maintenance is a plus. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects efficiently. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience in business process analysis and automation. Knowledge of PHP JavaScript and MySQL for WordPress customization. Understanding of website hosting domain management and SSL setup. Experience with digital marketing tools and integrations with Zoho.
Required Education:
- Proven experience as an Office Manager Front Office Manager or Administrative Assistant.- Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities systems and procedures.- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook in particular).- Hands-on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers).- Familiarity with email scheduling tools like Email Scheduler and Boomerang.- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.- Attention to detai
