We are seeking a Campus Manager to be the operational leader for our Newmarket Campus.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Newmarket Campus runs effectively providing a safe accessible and high-performing environment for all staff students and visitors. You will be the key campus contact managing shared spaces coordinating events and overseeing customer services.
Working closely with Campus Environment managers you will support campus planning and continuous improvement of our physical spaces. This includes leading proposals for space planning and developing operational solutions. You will ensure high service quality by monitoring performance engaging with stakeholders coordinating projects and providing monthly reports on campus operations and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaise closely with campus stakeholders co-locators and Service Divisions to ensure campus operational needs are met.
- Coordinate planned reactive and major building maintenance programs with stakeholders. Work with Facilities Management teams to deliver preventative maintenance schedules ensuring construction activities minimise cost and disruption and identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
- Lead and manage campus operations including front-of-house services coordinating maintenance minor capital works projects and managing special operational projects.
- Oversee building services and shared spaces (including maintenance cleaning access and capital works) monitor service delivery for safety and compliance and proactively communicate any issues or delays to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement the annual operational plan for the Newmarket Campus ensuring it aligns with campus stakeholders and broader University strategies.
- Provide insights and information to Campus Environment managers to support their strategic planning and operational decision-making.
- Provide guidance mentoring and direction to casual campus staff. Your role involves promoting a team culture that is inclusive flexible and focused on achieving high standards.

This is a permanent full-time position(37.5 hours per week). The salary range for this role is $95000 to $112500 negotiable depending on skills and experience.

We are looking for a background in facilities or commercial property management who can oversee the buildings and operations at our large Newmarket Campus. Ideally you will have worked in a university (tertiary) setting before or have relevant experience from a trade or commercial background. You are a natural relationship builder who proactively connects and communicates effectively with a wide range of people both inside and outside the University.
You are performance-driven focusing keenly on achieving results and efficiency and possess the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively. You are a forward-thinker able to anticipate long-term effects and understand complex multi-year projects. You must be strongly focused on Health and Safety compliance in everything you do.
Once settled in the role you will develop and implement new processes so we need someone experienced in leading and communicating change. Formal change management training is a plus but is not essential. Finally while you will supervise some staff your main focus will be on effectively managing stakeholder relationships.
E rapua ana mātou We are seeking
- A Bachelors degree a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- More than five years of experience in facilities management or a similar professional field.
- Proven experience in mentoring and supervising both direct staff and contractors.
- Confident user of Microsoft Windows-based computer systems.
- Experience using an asset management software system (e.g. Maximo).
- Desirable (not essential) a working understanding of operational sustainability and carbon-related guidelines and standards.
- Desirable (not essential) previous hands-on experience in on-site trade work construction or working with facilities contractors.
