We are hiring in San Diego for a Project Manager I and it will be a hybrid position based at our clients location in the San Diego area. The Project Manager (PM) leads the planning coordination and execution of complex utility regulatory reporting initiatives with a primary focus on SDG&E transmission-related compliance obligations. This role serves as a key contributor and subject-matter resource for regulatory reporting data governance and cross-functional coordination. The PM is expected to independently manage complex workstreams proactively identify risks guide stakeholders through regulatory requirements and contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy efficiency and compliance across the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a centralized workload and resource forecasting model through collecting and analyzing data from work management systems and other data sources. Provide detailed workload breakdown by project and program and for varying time intervals for varying stakeholders.
- Drive resourcing strategy to optimize internal and external resource balance across all stages of the project lifecycle to meet project and company targets and goals. Analyze workload forecasts versus resource availability to identify resource leveling issues and provide recommendations to ensure resource optimization for multi-year planning.
- Coordinate and collaborate effectively with district operations centralized scheduling design and engineering land environmental supply management construction management and other departments and agencies to ensure alignment to resourcing strategy and proactively identify and address risks opportunities and issues.
- Provide high-level and detailed workload material and forecasting reports and presentations to key stakeholders as required; Be transparent and actively communicate with all stakeholder groups to increase collaboration and buy-in.
- Prepare for coordinate and drive meetings with process leads and detail all changes to existing processes and procedure documents. Collect signatures and upload refreshed documentation.
- Lead and drive process enhancements as it relates to Gas Distribution
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in project management
- Must have prior utilities project management experience (gas distribution is highly preferred)
- Working knowledge of Power BI and internal SDG&E systems such as SAP/CPD K2 Procore preferred; ability to leverage and work with data to influence
- Strong Excel skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience forecasting resources including material budgets working hours and schedules.
- Experience presenting in and leading meetings.
- A collaborative individual with adequate written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- PMP is a plus
