JobResponsibilities:
The successful candidate will plan and teach multiple sections of high school school mathematics as well as work collaboratively with thehighschool department chair and members of the high school mathematics department to support student learning and growth.
- Teach math by using and modifying district curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
- Plan and execute appropriate instructional and learning strategies. These activities materials and assignments will be expected to reflect a deep understanding of the needs (academic and social/emotional) of students.
- Use student level data to inform instruction and plan effective lessons/interventions for students.
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of math content methods and principles of effective elementary instruction.
- Promotes the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations create a safe and effective classroom environment and demonstrate cultural proficiency.
- Fosters the learning and growth of all students through effective partnerships with families and caregivers.
- Collaborates effectively with specialists instructional coaches administrators and parents to foster positive social emotional and academic development for our students.
- Ensures through effective collaboration with colleagues (chiefly ESL and Special Education liaisons) that identified strategies that promote the success of all students in the classroom are in place.
- Works under the general supervision of the building principal and or another designated administrator manages student behavior assesses and evaluates student achievement.
- Provides structure in the classroom by building and maintaining a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Require Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary EducationMathematics license at the appropriate level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with and/or teachinghigh school students; an understanding of the needs of students at this age
- Collaborative work ethic
- Training/experience in the use of instructional technology
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy
- Potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom
