Schedule Details
- Shift: Day Shift (10 hours)
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours (4 days/week)
Additional Schedule Requirements:
- Every Wednesday: Evening Shift (3:00 PM 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM 12:00 AM)
- Night Shift Rotation: Thursday Saturday (8:30 PM 7:00 AM)
- Rotating schedule including evenings and nights as needed
Position Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures using high-frequency sound waves to support physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires strong technical expertise patient care skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for ultrasound exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety
- Select appropriate transducers based on exam requirements
- Review patient history physician orders and clinical data
- Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images
- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures following departmental protocols
- Evaluate images for technical quality proper labeling and documentation
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately
- Maintain accurate radiology records and documentation
- Assist physicians with specialized procedures (e.g. ultrasound-guided biopsies)
- Follow infection control safety and compliance standards
- Manage workflow to ensure timely completion of exams
- Maintain and monitor imaging equipment; report issues as needed
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Deliver patient care aligned with values of compassion accountability respect excellence and service
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
- ARDMS certification (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers)
- Registered in Abdomen and OB/GYN specialties (ARDMS)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- All certifications must be current and maintained
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospital or high-volume imaging environment
- Experience assisting with interventional ultrasound procedures
- Familiarity with radiology systems and documentation practices
