Summary/objective
Manages all incoming phone operations and is the voice of Randolph College.

- Information operations include operation of multi-line telephone paging system and two-way radio equipment base center
- Directs all telephone calls to proper business office in a timely and professional manner
- Documents shift events and occurrences and calls for any services on the appropriate form using standard grammar
- Employees are held accountable for successful job performance. Job performance standards may be documented separately and may include functions objectives duties and tasks not specifically listed herein
- In performing functions duties or tasks employees are required to know and follow safe work practices and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify supervisor upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
- Monitors card access to facilities with such devices to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls card access entrances
- Monitors the burglar and fire alarm systems
- Distributes keys as needed following key control policy
- Makes emergency notifications during unusual occurrences
- Promotes positive community relations
- Handles information in a confidential manner
- Interacts with Students Staff and Faculty
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
- Functions as an essential employee during Campus closures (planned and unplanned)

- Good written and oral communication skills along with interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with college-aged students.
- Self-Starter with the ability to work independently and as a supporting team member.

Work environment
Person typically works in an office environment.
Physical demands
May occasionally lift 10/15 lbs or may walk and/or bend in the performance of the job functions. May be exposed to stressful situations. May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
Travel required
Required education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer skills; Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred education and experience
- Prior switchboard or communications operator experience.
- Organizational abilities.
