Job Summary

CTE TEACHER SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY:

The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Specialist is responsible for supporting the Ogden School Districts CTE and Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Programs. This will include supporting general CTE initiatives Career and Technical Student Organizations CE CTE pathways and teachers and You Science Industry Certification testing and Career Interest and Aptitude implementation. The CTE specialist will directly support secondary schools teachers and students and indirectly support CTE initiatives at the elementary level aligning with Ogden School Districts strategic plan and overall family and community awareness of CTE and CE Programs. All employees agree to follow Board Policy as well as abide by the rules of the Districts Procedural Manual and Common Contract.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Collaboration and support to CTE teachers district-wide.
  • Support secondary schools and CTE teachers with appropriate budget expenditures and processes
  • Collaboration with feeder comprehensive schools with enrollment student needs and schedules.
  • Collaboration with developing and supporting local and region-wide Industry Advisory Committees.
  • Support district Career and Technical Student Organizations
  • Support You Science Industry Certifications and implementation of You Science Career Interest Surveys and Aptitude Testing.
  • Support the Concurrent Enrollment Program
  • Collaboration with local universities and technical colleges.
  • Support CTE Administrative Assistants.
  • Navigate and learn local/state educational policy.
  • Communicate with students teachers staff counselors families and community members in a way that is sensitive adaptable and professional.
  • Build relationships with various stakeholders to develop understanding and increase student growth and proficiency.
  • Manage time to maximize personal effectiveness.
  • Assess and evaluate situations/circumstances and develop an action plan for improvement of a situation relationship or process.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize appropriately.
  • Effectively market CTE and CE programs and services to ensure requisite participation.
  • Support district-wide CTE professional development activities.
  • Support with the necessary CTE and CE data collection and reporting
  • Be familiar with and abide by school district policies and stay current on changes in such policies through procedures described by the Board
  • Demonstrates high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
  • Maintains current certification in appropriate teaching areas
  • Performs such other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited institution Professional Educators License and CTE Endorsement
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school district and state
  • Single-subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject
  • State certification
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Knowledge of relevant technology
  • Employee is required to obtain an ESL Endorsement by the end of the 4th year of employment. Failure to do so may impact continued employment
