Job Summary
The Division of PCCAS in the Department of Medicine is hiring a temporary e research intern to assist with pulmonary function testing research. The Mayo Clinic Pulmonary Function Laboratory (PFL) in Rochester MN is one of the largest in the world. Deidentified composite testing data from Mayo Clinic PFLs in Rochester Jacksonville and Eau Claire are being utilized to promote innovations in diagnosis prognosis and technology. Position responsibilities will include data curation data analysis constructing graphs/ figures/ and tables and writing preliminary results.
Housing parking and benefits will not be provided.
Qualifications
Must be a child step-child or spouse of a current Mayo Clinic employee.
Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting program.
Must be returning to college in the fall.
Must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks.
Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program
SEOP employees should not expect vacation/days-off to be approved during their commitment.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**
Preference given to those who have:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in computer science. Those seeking advanced degrees in computer science in the fall of 2026 are preferred.
- Prior experience in computer science research
- Demonstrated prior research productivity (poster paper or abstract)
- Demonstrated technical/scientific writing ability
- Coursework in calculus and statistics
- Proficient in English language
Some familiarity with pulmonary function test preferred
