SUMMARY The Lead Housekeeper performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well-established guides and assigned areas in addition to the lead role. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below: He/she performs periodic (every 2 weeks minimum) inspections of facilities to assure clean and sanitary conditions according to established cooperation with the Infection Prevention Officer identifies training needs for self and housekeeping staff to assure compliance with infection prevention standards. Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear defects or malfunctions to Supervisor. Reports supply and equipment needs to Maintenance Supervisor for replacement and/or replenishing. Trains or assigns training for new personnel to include observing proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques. Prepares the monthly work schedule following the standard schedule for each individual. He/she will inform the Director of Patient Care Services of employees request for time off (vacation etc) and aide in finding coverage for the necessary shifts. Provides for the economical use of supplies care and use of equipment. Cooperating with other employees to promote efficiency and completion of all areas of the job. Maintains equipment used in performing duties. Performs other duties as directed by designated Supervisor. Is tactful; courteous and at all times and cooperates with other hospital staff.
