As NPI Engineer of test development this role needs to understand the new product manufacturing test requirement and methodology establish the MFG test bench and measurement system execute and develop the automatic test program from sample build to mass production transfer. The products cover opto-electrical module linecard sub-system and integrated line system used in fiber telecommunication.
Duties & Responsibilities
Establish test bench execute and develop test program for NPI products-70%
- Engage with design team from development stage to understand new product design concept and test parameters especially focus on manufacturing test perspective
- Participating in Mfg. test flow definition assessing the production line test capability gap against test requirements breakdown to measurement equipment buy and/or make decision to prepare test station and bench setup timely
- Execute manufacturing test plans with R&D guidance take over and continuously optimize the MFG test program and encourage to develop test programs independently
- Work with team to identify troubleshoot and resolve test issues or bugs during new product testing to ensure test items are covered and test criteria fully stabilized from sample build to pilot release control
- Collaborating with design and product engineers to develop test kit and tool during sample bring up and quick verification when necessary
- Collect analyze test data and complete test reports as required providing technical documents and transfer production team for operation training
Verify and improve the test system & platform-20%
- Verify in-house developed test solution from hardware setup to function completeness
- Verify commercial measurement equipment and develop drivers as necessary
- Follow up with R&D test to verify test platform (Hardware & Software) update and monitor implementation effectiveness including test capability efficiency throughput etc.
- Contribute ideas on test systems to enhance the robustness and reliability
Mass production test support-10%
- Provide technical support to manufacturing line test capacity expansion when necessary
- Support legacy product test issue in manufacturing
Qualification & Requirements
Education & Experience
- BS degree is required and masters degree is preferred major in Optical Engineering Physics Electrical Automation or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- More than 3 years of working experience in fiber optics or optical fiber communication products or related industry in global companies
- Proven ability to develop automated test program for fiber communication sub-module linecard
- Experience in C# Python SQL DB networked PC based computer systems (Windows Linux).
Skills & Other Requirements
- Automation skills and familiarity with Visual Studio and Python
- Be familiar with Oracle SQL data client/Server architecture and SQL language
- Proficiency in using tools such as OSA Power Meter Optical Switch Oscilloscopes optical network analyzer etc. test instruments
- Ability to implement experiments analyze data root cause deep dive for technical issues and problem solving
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues
- Good team spirit and communication skills with the ability to collaborate closely with R&D and production team
- Good understanding of optical fiber communication optical transport networks and related technologies is a plus.
