About the role:

As a Line Mechanic based at our Gore Depot youll be part of an experienced dynamic and forward-thinking team focused on ensuring reliableelectricity for our customers throughout the network.

As part of your role as a Line Mechanic you will be:

  • Installing replacing and maintaining overhead power lines poles and pole-mounted equipment (i.e. transformers fuses switches circuit breakers conductors cross-arms insulators terminations connections etc.).
  • Installing replacing and maintaining underground/ground-mounted power line equipment (i.e. cables transformers switches circuit breakers fuses enclosures pillar boxes terminations connections etc.).

All while adhering to and complying with the NAC Scope of Practice

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A current EWRB limited registration
  • A minimum 2 years experience as a Line Mechanic within the electricity industry in New Zealand
  • Working knowledge of the industrys safety regulations

As part of the role you will need to be:

  • able to respond to after-hours call outs as and when required
  • physically fit
  • comfortable working outdoors
  • a cooperative team player
