Alternatives Engineering builds scalable datadriven and AIenabled technology that supports the privateside investment lifecycle.
Deal Manufacturing Engineering develops tooling and automation that enable deal teams to source evaluate structure and execute privatemarket deals across Real Estate Credit and Growth Equity.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Technical Vice President to join the Deal Manufacturing Engineering team within Asset Management Alternatives Engineering. This role has direct accountability for the design delivery and evolution of core platforms supporting privateside deal origination diligence and execution across Real Estate Credit and Growth Equity.
As a Vice President you will serve as a technical owner for key components of the Deal Manufacturing platform setting architectural direction leading complex initiatives endtoend and ensuring solutions meet Goldman Sachs standards for scalability resiliency security and risk management. You will remain handson while partnering closely with Product business stakeholders and engineering teams across Alternatives and mentoring engineers in line with GS engineering standards.

Within Deal Manufacturing Engineering AI and LLMs are applied to real production workflows accelerating development improving platform quality and enabling smarter solutions for investors and deal teams.
In this role you will be expected to practically apply LLMs within engineering workflows and production systems. Handson experience using LLMs to build and operate largescale applications is a strong plus.
What Youll Do- Own the architecture and technical direction for largescale missioncritical Deal Manufacturing platforms
- Design and deliver productiongrade fullstack applications using Java TypeScript and Python
- Build scalable backend services and APIs and modern web UIs using frameworks such as React or Angular
- Apply AI and LLM capabilities to enhance engineering efficiency and business productivity where appropriate
- Lead complex initiatives endtoend in an Agile environment from design through production
- Partner closely with Product business stakeholders and other engineering teams across Alternatives
- Mentor engineers lead code and design reviews and reinforce GS engineering standards
- Champion operational excellence including CI/CD testing and platform reliability
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 58 years of software engineering experience including technical leadership on complex systems
- Strong handson experience with Java TypeScript/JavaScript and Python
- Proven experience building scalable distributed systems APIs and microservices
- Experience developing modern web applications (React Angular or similar)
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders
Strong Plus / Preferred
- Handson experience using LLMs to build and operate productionscale applications
- Experience applying AI to improve engineering efficiency or business productivity
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred) with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Spring Boot Kafka or eventdriven architectures
- Background in financial services private markets or platform modernization efforts
