Amazon India is seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Category Manager for Home Appliances to lead one of our fastest-growing and most dynamic categories. This role will drive the strategic vision and execution for our Home Appliances business encompassing categories like water heaters air coolers air purifiers and related categories.
As the Sr. Category Manager you will be responsible for building and nurturing strategic partnerships with leading domestic and international brands engaging directly with CXOs and senior leadership of publicly listed companies and market leaders. You will shape the future of the Home Appliances category on driving selection expansion customer experience innovation and profitable growth.
This is a high-impact role requiring exceptional business acumen strategic thinking and the ability to influence and collaborate with C-suite executives of Indias largest home appliances manufacturers and global brands.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Own the P&L and strategic roadmap for the Home Appliances category driving revenue growth profitability and market share expansion
- Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with Amazon Indias vision for home appliances leadership
- Identify and capitalize on whitespace opportunities emerging trends and customer needs in the home appliances sector
- Brand Partnership & CXO Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with CXOs and senior leadership of major domestic brands
- Engage with international brand leadership to drive exclusive launches and strategic initiatives
- Negotiate high-value commercial agreements exclusive partnerships and co-marketing programs with publicly listed companies
- Collaborate with brand leadership on product innovation market expansion and omnichannel strategies
Selection & Vendor Management
- Drive selection expansion across all home appliances sub-categories focusing on premium mid-tier and value segments
- Manage a portfolio of 10 brands with annual revenues exceeding 200 crores each
- Lead vendor negotiations for pricing terms exclusive products and promotional investments
- Develop vendor scorecards and performance management frameworks to drive accountability and growth
Customer Experience & Innovation
- Champion customer-centric initiatives including enhanced product content comparison tools and buying guides
- Drive innovation in delivery installation and after-sales service for home appliances
- Implement programs to reduce returns improve product quality and enhance customer satisfaction
- Leverage customer insights and data analytics to inform assortment and merchandising decisions
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Marketing Operations Finance and Technology teams to execute category initiatives
- Collaborate with Public Policy and Legal teams on regulatory compliance (BIS standards energy ratings safety certifications)
- Work with Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory fulfillment and speed of delivery
- Lead cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and complex dependencies
Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy
- Monitor competitive landscape market trends and consumer behavior in home appliances
- Develop strategies to maintain Amazons leadership position against omnichannel competitors
- Analyze category performance metrics identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
- Present business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

- Expertise in vendor management contract negotiation and relationship management at the executive level
