Description
As an integral part of the Instructional Design team you will be responsible for the design and development of various training products including but not limited to e-learnings materials for Instructor-led training virtual training posters info-graphics and videos. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts and learning and development team members to rapidly develop course materials suggesting the appropriate technology options. As an experienced training professional the individual in this role will support colleagues by providing their expertise on Instructional Design and provide innovative solution to meet training needs.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing learning content to engage learners facilitate behavior change and/or transfer knowledge. Learning content may include eLearning courses job aids and presentations to be delivered via the LMS instructor-led or virtual instructor-led as appropriate.
- Work with L&D Consultant to understand the learning strategy and develop materials to meet the training need based on the training plan.
- Act as an expert in learning methodologies and emergingtechnologies.
- Must have a strong sense of design and delivering high quality products quickly.
- Leverage new authoring software or other technology to improve the effectiveness of training materials.
- Manage several priorities and projects to meetdeadlines.
- Persevere and maintain high standards ofquality.
- Maintain courseware and update and/or reformat new and existing training program material.
- Arrange and manage the translation process for training documentation dealing directly with thetranslator.
- Test upload and maintain files in the LMS system.
Education
- Post secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 3 years of experience required in instructional design methodologies adult learning principles and design media production.
- Experience designing training materials including info-graphics job aids e-learnings is a must.
- High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of products including InDesign Adobe Illustrator Photoshop.
- Proficiency required in Articulate Storyline Lectora Captivate PowerPoint SnagIt After Effects SAP Enable Now.
- Strong understanding of print production requirements.
- Video production and video editing skills considered an asset.
- Experience in multimedia development in audio video and/or animation.
- Strong writing editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and experience with managing multiple projects at varying stages.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal and an ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Adult Education certification or degree is considered a strong asset.
Competencies
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
