Job Summary
Overview
The Data Analyst will oversee activities related to data integrity and enhancement of the value of data. May direct the movement of data across multiple systems; oversee its validation and organization and make sure that it is available to appropriate people and systems within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients visitors and other employees. Interacts professionally courteously and appropriately with patients visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employee.
- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection analysis implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.
- Implements the best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data the quality of data processes and deliver analyzable and analyzed data to a variety of internal and external clients of the BronxCare PPS.
- Maintains data integrity and supports data analysis as necessary.
- Makes recommendations and assists in data capture data extraction and analysis.
- Develops maintains and/or implements procedures for data entry data cleaning documentation and other administrative tasks.
- Documents implements maintains and/or recommends operating methods to improve processing distribution data flow collection database editing procedures.
- May define parameters for file or space utilization.
- Assists faculty and staff with queries statistical analyses reports and technical difficulties related to data retrieval.
- Designs and writes custom applications needed to ensure the database meets requirements for the entry management and reporting of data.
- Identifies and recommends solution to data management issues.
- Trains staff with varying degrees of knowledge to effectively use the database system.
- Maintains knowledge of the current regulations and technologies related to data management
- May oversee data entry staff and other less experienced Data Analysts.
- May write and prepare manuscripts and other materials for internal and external audiences.
- May access data in the Data Warehouse.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years database application/management experience preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment
Or
Two (2) years relevant experience
(Equivalent education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the Bachelors Degree)
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- Database applications/management SQL and SAS
- Intermediate MS Office (Word Excel) Access Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent conceptualization design and analytical skills
