Whowerelooking for

Toyotas Safety Department is looking for a passionate and motivatedSenior Safety Engineerwithin theStrategy & Planning group.

The primary responsibility of this role is tomanage projects related toElectrification(Lithium-ion Battery)Implementation across North America.The primary area of focus will includemonitoring activity acrossmultiplestakeholder groupsto ensure adherence to theelectrificationreadinessplan.

Whatyoullbe doing

  • LeadObeyacollaboration activity with cross-functional groupsfor electrification projects coordinating information from regional and site stakeholdersregardinglithium-ion preparedness activities

  • Provide supportto Toyota Motor North Americaas aSubject Matter Expert (SME)inelectrification-safety related items

  • Interpretation and implementation of federal state and local safety regulationsrelated to lithium-ion batteries

  • Update andmaintainToyotatechnical safety standards related to lithium-ion battery safety

  • Developregionalimplementation plans and strategiesfor lithium-ion safetyprogram deployment

  • Presentbattery safety strategies andprojectstatusupdates to leadership and executives

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Ability to travel up to25% domestic with possibleinternational travel as needed

What you bring

  • Bachelors degree in one of the following: EngineeringorOccupational Safety & Healthor a relatedengineering technologyfield

  • Minimum of 5 years of experiencedirectlydeveloping implementing and managing safety programs orminimum of 5 yearsin a role where safety responsibilities made up at least 50% of the professional duties

  • Demonstrate strong understandingoflithium-ion battery safety related functions with comprehensive knowledge of OSHADOTNFPAIEEE ULANSI ASTMIFCand other applicable industry standards

  • Demonstrate experience managing projects requiring critical thinking (kaizen) problem solving data analysis andverification

  • Strong experienceindependentlydeveloping and delivering presentations generating effective reportsand dashboards conducting applicable standards research

  • Ability tomaintaina high levelof activity managing multiple ongoing projects and working effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to generate business plans and strategiesappropriate tothe work assigned at the business unit level

  • Masters degreeinElectricalEngineeringChemicalEngineeringMaterial ScienceEngineering or a relatedengineeringfield

  • Experience performingDC/lithium-ion batteryelectrical hazardsrisk assessments and engineering studies(DC Arc Flash Studies)

  • Experience implementing safety through hierarchy of controls and design principles

  • Deep knowledge andexperience in Manufacturing Process DevelopmentEquipment DesignIndustrial Controls Control of Hazardous Energy (CoHE) Machine Risk Assessment Safety SystemsVerification & Validationetc.

  • Knowledge andproficiencyinLithium-Ionbattery design and newelectrificationtechnologies

  • Experience working inautomotivemanufacturingor engineeringenvironments
