Schedule: MondayFriday (Shifts between 6:30 AM 5:15 PM)
Weekend Work: Occasional (Required Trainings)
St. Lucy Day Care & Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for creating a safe engaging and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the academic social and emotional growth of young children.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education patient organized and committed to fostering a positive learning environment rooted in care and respect.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum
Maintain a structured clean and organized classroom environment
Build positive respectful relationships with children families and staff
Monitor and support childrens daily needs including hygiene meals and transitions
Track and document student progress using Teaching Strategies (for CCAP students)
Communicate regularly with parents including sharing student work and updates
Ensure classroom materials toys and equipment are cleaned and maintained
Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
Complete daily rosters and ensure proper sign-in/out procedures
Participate in staff meetings trainings and center events
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience in early childhood education (daycare Head Start or school setting preferred)
CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to pass a criminal background check and Safe Environment training
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to engage young learners through creative and age-appropriate activities
Patient attentive and nurturing demeanor
Strong communication skills with both children and adults
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing walking bending and interacting at childs level
Ability to respond quickly to childrens needs and classroom situations
