Collaborate with engineering teams to support design-to-cost strategies during product development.
Analyze engineering drawings 3D models and specifications to understand design intent and cost drivers.
Develop detailed cost models for mechanical components including:
o Sheet metal (cutting bending welding surface treatment)
o Busbars (extrusion machining plating)
o Heat sinks (extrusion die casting CNC)
o Fasteners (standard/custom)
Develop detailed cost models for Electro-mechanical components line Transformer Reactors
Provide cost feedback and recommendations to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Maintain cost benchmarks and databases for various manufacturing processes and materials.
Engage with sourcing and procurement teams to validate supplier quotes and support cost negotiations.
Participate in supplier discussions to ensure transparency and alignment on cost structures.
Prepare and present cost analysis reports to cross-functional stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10 years of experience in should costing cost engineering or product cost management.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
Proven experience in design-to-cost or value engineering initiatives.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas pivot tables data analysis).
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
Experience in supplier engagement and cost breakdown validation.
Excellent analytical communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with cost estimation tools (e.g. aPriori) and ERP systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost modelling and analysis
Exposure to global sourcing and supplier markets.
Experience working in cross-functional teams (engineering sourcing quality finance).
