Location: Romulus NY
Schedule
- Day Shift: Combination schedule
- 2x12-Hour shifts (9:00 AM 9:00 PM)
- 2x8-Hour shifts (9:00 AM 5:00 PM)
- Contract Duration: 26 Weeks (extension up to 52 weeks possible)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Correctional Nursing provides comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals. This role involves direct patient care clinical supervision and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate treatment health education and continuity of care in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals
- Conduct health assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes
Clinical Duties
- Diagnose and manage patient responses to health conditions
- Provide health education counseling and preventive care
- Support restorative and rehabilitative care initiatives
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support Graduate Nurses LPNs and direct care staff
- Provide clinical guidance and training as needed
Collaboration
- Work with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Consult with treatment teams prior to administering procedures
- Participate in committees and health-related initiatives
Compliance & Security
- Adhere to correctional facility policies and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Ability to pass state-required background clearance
