POSITION SUMMARY:

The School Psychologist Provide comprehensive School Psychological Services in a school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid and current School Psychologist Certification by the Arizona Department of Educationor
- Valid and current Psychologist License by Arizona State Board of Psychologist Examiners
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Ability to work independently
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluator of Individual Students in collaboration with the IEP Team.
- Follows professional best practices and district procedures in identification evaluation and placement of potential special education students.
- Consult with site 504 Team when needed.
- Consult with site SST Team when needed.
- Consultant Regarding educational and mental health needs of students.
- Applies psychological and mental health principles to the school setting.
- Encourages appropriate use of group measurement data.
- Assists school staff to better understand and respond to student behavior.
- Assists in development of understanding of student differences and individual student needs.
- Encourages and assists in the development of programs to provide special help needed by students.
- Assists teachers in the development of appropriate classroom interventions.
- Coordinates and supervises building-level provision of school psychological services.
- Assists school staff in accessing school psychological services.
- Contributes to the objectives of the school.
- Suggests desirable organizational systems to administrators.
- Serves on District committees as appropriate.
- Assists with research to evaluate and improve learning as requested.
- Provides limited individual and group counseling for students.
- Assists district staff in managing crisis situations.
- Liaison between the school and community.
- Works with community agencies to coordinate students educational programs.
- Assists in school/community problem resolution as requested.
- Encourages improved community services for all children and youth.
- Continues professional growth.
- Shares professional knowledge with colleagues.
- Follows ethical code of the National Association of School Psychologists. School Psychologists who are licensed by the State Board of Psychologist Examiners are also subject to the ethical codes of that body and the American Psychological Association.

- Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
- Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications official transcripts will be due upon job offer*
*Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation ( word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services(NACES).
