Internship Call - ICTM - Vacancy Notice
The Information Communication and Technology Management (ICTM) provides support in the areas of Information Communication and Technology Management to the North Atlantic Council (NAC) to the NATO Committee structure and its subordinate groups and to the NATO HQ staff. ICTM offers internship opportunities in the following services:
Digital Information Management Services (DIMS) ensures the accessibility availability and integrity of all official information produced by the NAC its Committees and the IS. DIMS supports the IS Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Strategy through its role in the IKM governance structure and by providing a coherent and effective IKM framework consisting of tools procedures and best practices in order to ensure the efficient flow of information and knowledge to enable IS decision making and tasking. DIMS runs a programme of Digital Information Innovation supporting the transition of the IS to the cloud. The Head DIMS is the Personal Data Protection Officer for the IS and oversees the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Directive for the IS. Within DIMS the NATO Archives and Library preserves makes accessible and promotes the digital and analog information of permanent value to the Alliance. The internships are offered in the following three areas: Digital Information Innovation Programme within DIMS NATO Archives and the NATO Library.
The Business Relationship Management (BRM) Section is the Intelligent Customer representing the ICT needs of IS staff ensuring these are met efficiently and effectively and always improving the way IS staff work. BRM owns manages and delivers standard IT requirements to IS staff and ensures that all incoming requests for new IT services and new business requirements are validated using the in-house CIS governance framework and delivered according to agreed SLA standards and project management processes.
How the daily work will look like
Interns will gain a comprehensive understanding of NATOs information and communication policies and processes and It will also gain full awareness of NATOs Digital Transformation ambition as well as the projects related to the transition to cloud based networks.. They will have an opportunity to participate in both policy-making and operational components of ICTM. They will have an opportunity to enhance research and writing skills and to participate in different information and communication working groups or projects.
Among the different tasks the selected interns will have the opportunity to;
Assist in processing and preserving NATO information ;
Assist projects related to digital information innovation collecting user requirements as well as participating in systems and processes testing;
Assist in outreach projects promoting NATOs historical heritage;
Assist ICTM staff officers in developing and formulating information management policy and information and knowledge management advice;
Assist ICTM staff officers in managing ICT asset assignments and eligibility;
Assist ICTM staff officers in stakeholder analysis benefits development requirements gathering business intelligence reporting and market trends analysis;
Maintain SharePoint portals and their contents as required;
Draft meeting minutes decisions sheets reports and agendas;
Attend debates and negotiations of current Archives Committee as well as Information Management groups across the NATO Enterprise;
; Assist in Communication and Information (CIS) projects for example content management and AI;
Support the daily running of the NATO Library;
Co-ordinate ICT training initiatives across ICTM and the IS to facilitate development of staff in uplifting digital transformation skills;
Design and co-ordination of stakeholder feedback provision via surveys and other means.

Essential:
The candidate must:
1. be a national of a NATO member state
2. be at least 21 years old
3. have at least two years of university level studies OR equivalent education OR be currently a student OR a recent graduate (degree obtained no longer than 12 months ago)
4. have proficiency in one of the two official NATO languages (English/French).
Desirable:
The following criteria will be considered an advantage:
1. have a Bachelors degree or in the final stage of a Masters degree relevant to the requested area of expertise
2. elementary knowledge of the second official NATO language (English/French)
3. be an advance user of IT tools including Microsoft Office SharePoint;
4. previous experience with other international organizations national administration research or industry.
