What youll do

The role involves developing and articulating a compelling vision for AZ HK that aligns with the broader business strategy to achieve both short-term performance and long-term success while ensuring functional excellence. It requires building a high-performance senior leadership team by attracting and retaining top talent through effective development and recognition strategies thereby securing a strong talent pipeline. Additionally the position entails fostering and maintaining robust relationships with government officials organizations and industry peers to enhance the companys image and drive business objectives.

• Drive revenue and operating profit while aligning employee engagement with AstraZeneca HKs long-term vision.

• Define and execute a competitive long-term strategy based on market trends ensuring sales and contribution targets are met.

• Identify and develop commercial opportunities for sustainable growth and effective resource allocation.

• Ensure compliance with AZ and statutory governance requirements establishing accountability structures.

• Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

• Implement succession planning and talent development while optimizing employee performance and engagement.

• Innovate and adapt strategies to meet challenges build relationships with industry and government and influence policy decisions.

Essential for the role

• University degree in medical science pharmacy life sciences or related discipline

• High ethical standards and integrity

• Minimum 10 years leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

• Proven track record delivering business results

• Strong knowledge of pharma compliance in a regulated environment

• Ability to lead in a matrix/global organization; strong governance and escalation handling

• Demonstrated capability to manage cross-functional initiatives and change/transformation

• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment and compliance requirements in Hong Kong and Macau
