Summary of Position: Indiana Wesleyan Universitys Upward Bound (IWU-UB) is a federally funded program designed to provide potential first-generation and/or low income students in Marion and Mississinewa High Schools with academic skills and motivation necessary to succeed in their pre-college studies. The Upward Bound Office Manager is a motivated team-player responsible for the coordination and support of the general day to day administrative clerical and operational tasks related to the Indiana Wesleyans Upward Bound (IWU-UB) program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Present a professional helpful atmosphere and positive attitude for Indiana Wesleyan Universitys Upward Bound (IWU-UB) students and their parents staff visitors and callers
- Provide customer service by greeting students and visitors answering calls and providing successful resolution of routine administrative issues relative to IWU-UB
- Provide administrative support to the IWU-UB Director and Assistant Director including the maintenance and tracking of office records expenditures budgets and calendars collection and compilation of data preparation of correspondence and other materials operation of standard office equipment (copier/fax machine/scanner) supply ordering and inventory as well as the processing of requisitions invoices and other requests the coordination of travel including setting up student and staff travel arrangements
- Coordinate all program essentials and materials for academic tutoring Saturday and summer sessions including submitting work orders obtaining hospitality items and setting up facilities
- Coordinate ongoing correspondence with IWU-UB students and parents
- Exhibit sensitivity toward Upward Bound participants while honoring the confidentiality and privacy of student records as well as sensitive information
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education - Associates Degree required
Experience - Minimum of three (3) years of closely related work experience or a combination of closely related work experience and completion of a relevant educational degree equal to six years is required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with historically minoritized individuals
Required Skills - Communication able to effectively communicate in a professional diplomatic empathetic and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job
- Team Orientation & Interpersonal highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization
- Adaptable ability to be flexible and supportive to positively and proactively embrace change in rapid growth environment
- Relationship Management able to personally provide high level of interactive service to others building relationships and addressing identified needs
- Systems & Software proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs
- Independent work able to work independently with limited supervision and able to self-motivate
- Multi-task Ability to organize prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to swiftly assess a situation determine a logical course of action and apply the appropriate response
