Job Summary

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant Lead to join their growing agriculture organization. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting responsibilities with leadership over Accounts Payable functions. The Senior Accountant Lead will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records improving processes and supporting a collaborative team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Lead

Oversee and manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) function ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
Supervise and mentor AP staff providing guidance and support as needed
Perform general ledger accounting including journal entries reconciliations and month-end close activities
Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
Support audits and assist with ad hoc financial analysis as needed

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant Lead

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
5 years of progressive accounting experience
Prior experience overseeing or leading AP functions preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on accounting work
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
