Description of Assignment
The Tri-Tech Instructional Coach / Worksite Learning Coordinator is a collaborative leadership position dedicated to strengthening teaching and learning aligning curriculum to industry and academic standards and expanding high-quality work-based learning opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students.
This position combines two interrelated functions:
- Instructional Coaching providing direct data-informed support to teachers through modeling mentoring and staff development to improve instructional quality and student learning.
- Worksite Learning Coordination partnering with instructors staff and the business community to develop and sustain student placements and industry partnerships.
There is an expectation to work Tri-Techs summer session if offered (approximately 14 days for additional pay).
Instructional Coach Focus
The Instructional Coach serves as an instructional leader and mentor in supporting classroom excellence curriculum alignment and staff growth. Responsibilities include:
- Working side-by-side with instructors to model effective teaching strategies provide feedback and support reflective practice.
- Assisting staff in lesson design differentiation and assessment ensuring instruction meets diverse learner needs.
- Guiding instructors in developing updating and aligning Career and Technical Education curriculum frameworks to meet industry standards academic benchmarks and district and state equivalency credit requirements.
- Ensuring all curriculum documentation remains accurate updated and aligned with OSPI requirements and Tri-Tech program standards.
- Leading and facilitating professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on collaboration data-driven decisions and student success.
- Designing and leading schoolwide professional development focused on pedagogy literacy technology integration and instructional improvement.
- Supporting implementationupdating anddevelopmentof theTri-Tech Portfolioto strengthen career readiness and employability skill development.
- Collaborating with administration and teachers to contribute to the School Improvement Plan and monitoring progress toward measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrating leadership clear communication organization and a growth-oriented approach to student learning and staff collaboration.
Worksite Learning (WSL) Coordination
The Worksite Learning Coordinator supports instructors in connecting classroom learning to authentic career-connected experiences for students. This role works in close partnership with the Business and Community Engagement Coordinator and Tri-Tech administration to promote strong local industry relationships and ensure high-quality placements. Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with teachers and the Business and Community Engagement Coordinator to recruit retain and strengthen business and industry partnerships supporting job shadows and internships.
- Coordinating and monitoring student placement processes ensuring safety alignment with program goals and compliance with state Worksite Learning guidelines.
- Supporting instructors in teaching employability and workplace readiness skills including resumes applications and interview techniques.
- Screening interviewing and recommending qualified students for placement.
- Developing and updating Worksite Learning procedures materials reports and communications often in partnership with Tri-Tech administrative staff.
- Supporting outreach and promotional initiatives in cooperation with the Business and Community Engagement Coordinator.
- Preparing and submitting required reports maintaining accurate PowerSchool records and attending advisory and employer-related meetings as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Valid Washington State CTE Teacher Certificate.
- Washington State CTE Worksite Learning Coordinator Endorsement (V600097).
- Washington State CTE Career ChoicesEndorsement (V600092).
- Minimum of five (5) years of CTE teaching experience in a Skills Center or comparable setting.
- Demonstrated experience placing students in Worksite Learning settings including internships job shadows and other career-connected experiences
- Demonstrated success in instructional coaching teacher mentorship or program leadership.
- Satisfactory evaluations and professional references.
Qualifications Preferred
- Direct experience as an Instructional Coach or curriculum lead.
- Proven ability to develop update and align CTE curriculum frameworks with current academic and industry standards.
- Experience designing and facilitating adult learning and professional development.
- Strong understanding of state CTE frameworks academic equivalency processes and industry-based curriculum requirements.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with business industry and community partners to develop student learning opportunities.
- Strong organizational communication and relationship-building skills with a commitment to teamwork and innovation.
- Evidence of successful experience working with secondary students and staff in highly collaborative educational settings.
