Maryville High School is seeking a Head Coach for the Girls Basketball Program with teaching certification in the area of Physical Education. Other areas of certification will be considered. - Head Coach must be a full time district employee
- Start date - July 24 2026
- Application Deadline: Monday April 13 2026.
Qualifications: - Current Tennessee Teaching Certificate
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience inhigh school preferred
- Minimum 5 years high school coaching experience preferred
Application Procedure: Qualities: - Maintain a positive working relationship with academic team members to develop coordinate implement and evaluate school curriculum and assessments
- Perform duties assigned to all coaches/teachers by administrators
- Work with the administration to achieve district goals described within the Maryville City Schools Strategic Plan document
- Consider athletics as part of the total educational program encouraging athletes to work to their maximum ability in both academics and sports
- Maintain effective working relationships with school administrators governing organizations (TSSAA) opponents officials staff parents and students while the Girls Basketball Program.
- Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletes
- Develop and maintains a positive educational environment on the court and in the classroom
- Manage and supervise athletic activities contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills teamwork discipline respect and good sportsmanship.
- Coordinate the development promotion and retention of the Girls Basketball Program
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of the game as well as extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.
- Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
- Develop and incorporate a plan for off-season and pre-season strength training as well as promotion of a year round healthy lifestyle.
- Actively support student athlete post-secondary goals and assist with college recruitment.
- Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching style
- Possess the ability to assess players and coaches effectively.
- Be willing to accept a high level of accountability.

- Be an active member of the faculty and staff
- Create and maintain a positive classroom climate through effective classroom management; supervise the proper care of school property
- Be self-reflective by participating in personal professional growth activities to learn new skills and improve teaching
- Promote positive student parent and community relationships through using effective written and oral communication
