Description

The Supervisor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Maintenance manages MHE assetslocatedat multiple Purolator facilities in Central Ontario as well as employees and contractors through defined processes and systems.


The roleoperatesin a24/7 high-volumelogisticsenvironmentand provides direct supervision to skilled trades supporting conveyor and automation systems.

The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday from 2:00pm - 10:00pm flexibility required for morning and weekend oncall support. The shift may also move to daytime hours so schedule flexibility is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance programs and support services allow Regional Hubs to operate with 99.95% uptime availability reliability and consistency across the Purolator network.
  • Develop manage inspect and oversee MHE/ conveyor maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and timely work order completion.
  • Perform periodic inspections of recently maintained equipment to verify quality of maintenance and overall operating condition.
  • Monitor repairs completed by employees to ensure quality standards and productivity requirements are met.
  • Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could negatively impact Operations.
  • Ensure CMMS standardization formatting and content development are maintained.
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to skilled trades including millwrights electricians and automation technicians.
  • Assign work orders manage priorities and support troubleshooting during equipment breakdowns.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations across day evening and night shifts to maintain alignment.
  • Support planned shutdowns major repairs and capital projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations policies and best practices.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory role managing skilled trades (millwrights electricians mechanics automation technicians).
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with conveyor systems in a high-volume 24/7 high-speed package sortation or logistics environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background; automation experience is an asset.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance reliability and asset management principles.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and respond effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to support off-shift operations emergency breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
