Job Description
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Guardian in Alexandria VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and this government transit location you will perform armed patrol duties conduct routine patrols maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and assist riders and visitors with professionalism. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees visitors and/or passengers by carrying out security-related procedures location-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents disturbances and/or critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or supervisors.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings platforms parking areas access points and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances exits and public areas verifying access permissions when required and providing directions or assistance in accordance with government location protocols.
- Support transportation and facility operations by observing for suspicious behavior unattended items and/or operational issues then communicating findings through proper reporting channels.
Minimum Requirements:
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
