Summary
- The Performance & Data Analyst is a crucial role within a local authority tasked with delivering accurate timely and meaningful data analysis and insights to the Councils Management Board. This position supports evidence-based decision-making continuous improvement and operational efficiency primarily focusing on Childrens Services with an emphasis on Education. Familiarity with School Census returns CME/EHE returns Key Stage Collections and Education systems such as Education MRI VYED and Nexus is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Analyse performance data to identify trends needs and areas for improvement.
- Develop and monitor performance targets to support service improvement.
- Produce clear concise reports tailored for senior managers Councillors and operational teams.
- Automate and streamline reporting processes wherever possible.
- Support directorates in developing outcome-focused performance measures.
- Challenge and validate data outturns to ensure accuracy and identify risk areas.
- Provide proposals for remedial action based on analytical findings.
- Deliver statutory data submissions (Equalities national returns regulatory reporting).
Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and produce actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in:
- SQL
- SSRS (report writing)
- Power BI / Tableau
- Excel & Power Query
- Statistical software tools
- GIS (desirable)
- Experience managing and integrating data from multiple sources.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in data analytics performance management or related fields.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Location: Civic Offices 2 Watling Street Bexleyheath Kent DA6 7AT United Kingdom
- Work pattern: 4 days remote 1 day in the office
- Payment schedule: Bi-weekly
