Over 32000 operations are performed in 42 operating rooms here annually and more than one-third of all surgeries performed are minimally invasive procedures. After helping develop laparoscopic surgery as a widely used surgical discipline we are now at the forefront of robotic surgery while building a training program to teach outside surgeons to do complex robotic procedures. Cedars-Sinai boasts nationally recognized programs in transplantation cardiothoracic surgery surgical oncology and gastrointestinal surgery orthopaedics urology and established a new training program in otolaryngology in 2019.
Summary of Essential Duties:
As a Clinical Nurse II (CN II) you will be a competent clinician who provides nursing care in a skilled and effective manner. Utilizing appropriate decision making skills exhibits competence in the technical interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II establishes a plan of care sets goals determines priorities and provides care within established standards of practice.
Provides and accurately documents patient care services that ensures the safety comfort personal hygiene and protection of patients in a timely manner
Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures
Administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment disease prevention or rehabilitative plan of care
Performs skin tests immunizations phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheral venous access
Observes signs and symptoms of illness reactions to medications/treatments general behavior and/or general physical condition
Identifies patients readiness for learning and ability to understand directions/instructions and give consent
Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations


Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
BSN preferred
License/Certification:
California State RN License required
BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
Med-Surg ICU or OR experience preferred
