Primary Purpose of Role

The Human Resource Intern will support daily HR operations and gain hands-on experience across various HR functions including recruitment onboarding employee relations training and HR administration. This role is ideal for a student interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources and looking to learn best practices in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new hire onboarding and ensure a smooth integration for new employees.
  • Help maintain and update HR records personnel files and employee databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in organizing employee engagement initiatives and company events.
  • Assist with training and development planning including tracking attendance and preparing training resources.
  • Support HR compliance by helping maintain documentation related to policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide administrative support such as filing data entry preparing correspondence and assisting with HR projects.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and other departments to support ongoing HR initiatives.
  • Assist with the hourly recruitment process including posting jobs and communicating with the candidates.

Competencies and Behaviors

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and strong time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration or related fields preferred.
  • Prior internship coop or handson project experience (academic or extracurricular) is a plus.
