Seismic Consulting Group is seeking a high-performing Senior Socio-Economic Research Analyst to drive evidence-based advisory research excellence and business development across its international development and public sector portfolio.
The role sits at the intersection of research strategy and commercial delivery requiring a candidate who can originate opportunities lead complex engagements and deliver high-quality socio-economic insights aligned with global donor standards (e.g. World Bank AfDB DFID/FCDO UN Agencies).
The successful candidate will play a critical role in:
Identifying and securing international development opportunities
Leading proposal development (EOIs RFPs RFQs grant submissions)
Designing and executing large-scale socio-economic and impact studies
Delivering third-party monitoring independent verification and evaluation assignments
This role requires a consulting mindset combining technical depth stakeholder engagement and revenue generation capability.
Proactively identify track and qualify international development opportunities including EOIs RFPs RFQs and grant calls across Africa and globally.
Lead and coordinate the preparation of:
Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
Technical and Financial Proposals
Request for Quotations (RFQs) responses
Develop winning strategies aligned with donor evaluation criteria (QCBS LCS FBS etc.).
Build and maintain relationships with development partners government agencies and funding institutions.
Design lead and implement socio-economic research and advisory projects from inception to completion.
Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time within scope and budget.
Ensure alignment with international standards (OECD-DAC World Bank guidelines UN evaluation frameworks).
Provide strategic oversight across multiple concurrent engagements.
Lead the design of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Conduct advanced socio-economic analysis including:
Economic modeling
Policy impact analysis
Sector diagnostics
Translate complex findings into actionable policy recommendations and strategic insights.
Design and implement:
Impact Assessments
Independent Verification (IV)
Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) frameworks
Develop results frameworks KPIs and logical frameworks (LogFrames).
Ensure rigorous data validation triangulation and reporting standards.
Engage with senior government officials donors and institutional stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops validation sessions and policy dialogues.
Serve as a trusted advisor on socio-economic and development policy matters.
Masters degree (or higher) in:
Economics
Development Studies
Public Policy
Social Sciences or related field
Minimum 710 years of progressive experience in:
Socio-economic research
Development consulting
Policy advisory
Demonstrated experience working with international development partners such as:
World Bank AfDB UN FCDO USAID GIZ etc.
Proven track record of:
Winning and delivering donor-funded projects
Leading proposal development (EOIs RFPs RFQs)
Strong experience in:
Impact evaluation
Third-party monitoring (TPM)
Independent verification
Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools:
STATA R Python SPSS or equivalent
Strong understanding of:
Economic modeling and policy analysis frameworks
Donor procurement processes (QCBS etc.)
Excellent report writing and presentation skills (consulting-grade outputs)
Value and number of opportunities identified and won
Quality and competitiveness of proposals submitted
