Job Summary

The Network and Technology Facilities Management team within the department of Technology Solutions is seeking a motivated reliable detailed and team oriented student employee with excellment communication skills. The student employee will assist with a variety of daily tasks.

Student employees will be assisting Network Engineers with their daily work troubleshooting and preparation for maintenance projects. Students will generally start with non-technical tasks but as experience and trust are gained will have opportunities to perform technical work on production equipment. Students will also assist the Technology Facilities Management team with UPS (uninterruptable power supply) wiring and repairing network jacks.

All work will directly or indirectly support the campus network.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

Preferred Qualifications

-Telecommunications or related major.
-Experience with Microsoft Visio.
-Knowledge of or coursework in networking technologies.
-Knowledge of or coursework in Wi-Fi networks.

Work Hours

10-28 hours per week in the timeframe of M-F 8:00am - 4:00pm

Important Information for Applicants

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.

International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work more when the university is not in session.
