As aShiftLeadyoullbe part of ourTools& Outdoor ManufacturingteamlocatedinHampstead MD.You will work in a manufacturing setting and help lead the team in performing key production tasks such as powdered metal pressing sintering vibratory deburring CNC machining heat treat powder support and packaging.Youllalsoget to:
Ensurework priorities and siteobjectivesare met on the shift through providing effective direction and instructions to shop associates
Oversee overall production process and ensuringoptimalefficiency throughobservingthe furnacesmonitoringthe placement of parts managing product flow between departments andmaking adjustments toproduction equipment as needed
Adhereto and prioritizing all safety protocols within each shift
Assistin production including covering required production areas for breaks lunches and when production areas are support required makers
Train new associates and cross training current employees
Performfurnace checks to ensure equipment isoperatingproperly
Conductprocess and quality checks to ensure parts are up to spec including frequent visual inspection of compacted parts
Perform emergency procedures as needed due to unplanned circumstances such as power outages loss of water pressure furnace disruptions and incidents involving other associates
Troubleshootoperations problems within the departments including compaction heat treat CNC machining vibratory deburringandpackout
Other duties as assigned
Who You Are

High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
Able to read write and communicate in English
Capable of reading and interpreting operation procedures engineeringdrawingsand quality plans
Strong orientation toward safety quality and continuous improvementdemonstratedby a work history of safe performanceaccuracyand attention to detail in the work performed and constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement
Knowledge of and willingness to be involved in all powdered metal processes. Training experience desirable
Knowledge of all quality inspection equipment (must be certified as a back-up quality tech within 180 days). Quality measurement experiencedesirable.
Forklift certified (or willing to become certified within 90 days)
Heat Treat certified (or willing to become certified within 180 days)
First Aid/First Responder trained (or willing to become trained within 180 days)
Able to handle continuous standing of 8 to 10 hours daily
Able to perform frequent lifting up to 33lbsindependently and up to 70lbswithassistance
Strong leadership and communication skills with a One Team mindset
Able to work scheduled overtime as necessary
