Software Development Engineer II, AWS Piezo, AWS Proactive Security

AWS customers trust us with their most sensitive data. Were building cryptographic systems that enhance customer control over access to their data and metadata. Youll design and implement components using Rust PKI formal verification and distributed systems that strengthen customer data protection while maintaining operational efficiency at scale. Youll own significant features from design through deployment building systems that give customers verifiable control over who accessed their resources and when. Working as part of the Piezo team youll contribute to security outcomes across AWS service teams. Your work will have CISO-level visibility and influence how tens of thousands of Amazon builders design and operate their services.

Youre a software engineer with experience in distributed systems security and large-scale design. You deliver high-quality work independently make sound technical decisions and mentor junior engineers. You write maintainable code conduct thorough code reviews and debug complex issues across multiple components. You communicate technical concepts clearly and demonstrate ownership beyond assigned tasks.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 3 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
