Define the coffee sustainability strategy for Colombia based on LDC Global sustainability strategy and the local context:
- Collect data on the market: supply and demand of certified / verified sales; projects participation of the relevant customers; etc.
- Create an environment (budget staffing structure etc.) and management tools (work plans targets) that will ensure the successful delivery of LDCs sustainability strategy in Colombia.
Coordination of the sustainability activities with the local team based on the LDC Sustainability strategy pillars
- Responsible Sourcing
- Create certified verified capacity aligned with business needs
- Follow-up challenge and update the scope volume farmers areas certificate etc. if needed
- Coordinate the audits (of LDC facilities and in the field) to lead to success
- Facilitate the communication with the commercial team and lead to a commercial benefit
- Facilitate and coordinate the communication with the cooperatives leaders and suppliers
- Report and follow up on customers requirements of certified / verified coffee (traceability reports transparency reports)
- Be the guardian of good practices along the supply chains and solve any issue and violation in the supply chain
- Facilitate the implementation of the RSP program aligned with the needs of the origination team and implementing the levels of the programs (Advanced Core and Core) required for the Country Business Plan.
- Train and coach LDC Coffee employees (factories warehouses execution trader teams) on LDC Suppliers Code of Conduct RSP and on the Standards rules (RA CP Fairtrade Organic) to respect the guidelines and facilitate the audits
- Support the roll-out and use of the traceability system
- Collaborative initiatives
- Pro-actively suggest and develop project proposals to support our supply chains with key customers
- Proactively look for (co-)funding to support project work
- Ensure that projects are implemented according to the objectives and follow-up on the projects progress
- Prepare the reporting sheets for the projects participants with the appropriate templates
- Liaise with the various stakeholders of the projects (JDE Julius Meinl LDF Starbucks etc.)
Impact Measurement
- Collect Data to monitor the impact of LDC Sustainability programs for the certification programs the collaborative initiatives and the responsible sourcing
- Facilitate the usage of data collection system
Analysis and Strategy
- Analyze the existing sustainability coffee programs in the regions implemented by roasters traders producers NGOs GOs (and regular updates)
- Analyze the sustainable coffee market in the region (supply and demand) and report regular updates
- Update the strategy (with Action Plan) if needed (projects certification programs locations scope etc)
Team Management
- Identify and retain the best team members
- Federate people around the same objectives
- Create a strong team spirit
- Be demanding and supportive
- Liaise with research team to optimize teams workload
Qualifications :
- Education: As a minimum Bachelors degree in sustainability management business management agronomy agriculture international development or similar relevant topics
- Masters degree would be a plus
Languages:
- Spanish
- English
- Portuguese and French are a plus
Additional Information :
- 3 to 5 years with a minimum three years experience in managing field projects in coffee or other agricultural commodities including work planning budgeting and training local staff. Experience in coffee is a strong advantage.
