DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Skilled Trades Professional II where youll contribute to global healthcare and scientific this role youll support manufacturing operations by maintaining troubleshooting and operating specialized equipment. Youll work with advanced machinery performing preventive maintenance repairs and quality control procedures while ensuring compliance with GMP standards and safety protocols. This position offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements in an environment dedicated to enabling our customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED Required
Experience:
Minimum of 2 year of maintenance or manufacturing experience
Preferred Fields of Study: Technical/Mechanical
Professional certifications in relevant trades a plus
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and repair
Knowledge of electrical systems PLCs and control systems
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and measurements
Proficiency in preventive maintenance procedures
Experience with GMP and SOPs in manufacturing environments
Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 lbs
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and teamwork capabilities
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed
Commitment to safety procedures and protocols
Willingness to handle chemicals and work in industrial environments
Valid vision test certification (renewed every two years)
Experience with specialized equipment (folding machines press operations) preferred
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
