Discover Impactful Work:

Our factory produces low-volume high-complexity electron microscopy products for semiconductor designers and manufacturers to use in the creation and improvement of their products and manufacturing processes. The team is responsible for the smooth introduction of new electron microscopy products into the factory and field as well as for ongoing improvements to products and the processes used to manufacture and service them.

You will play a critical hands-on role supporting advanced electron microscopy systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. Acting as the bridge between R&D manufacturing and field service you will ensure electrical systems perform reliably in real-world production environments.

This is not a pure design roleyou will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor and in cleanroom environments working directly with technicians to troubleshoot issues improve system performance and support new product introduction.

You will take ownership of one or more tools becoming the go-to expert for electrical system performance reliability and continuous improvement.

A Day in the Life:

  • Work on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initiation through release following the Product Management Process (PMP).
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues at system and component levels (e.g. power supplies boards connectors). Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Perform failure analysis and drive root cause resolution for electrical and system-level problems.
  • Identify and resolve electrical integration issues during early builds.
  • Assist logistics and document management with Technical Product Documentation (TPD) and specification support.
  • Using available data identify areas requiring sustaining projects for design and process improvements.
  • Complete component obsolescence projects on current and near-end-of-life products and qualify replacements.
  • Develop and optimize build test and validation processes for complex electro-mechanical systems with a focus on electrical performance reliability and manufacturability.
  • May design tooling required for manufacturing and service to meet cycle time and tool availability requirements.
  • You will be the engineering point of contact for one or more tools during integration on the manufacturing floor and be the go-to expert for electrical system performance reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Build and deliver initial training to Manufacturing Technical Support and Service personnel in new product build test install and repair procedures.
  • Support critical issues on the production floor to ensure on-time shipments. Drive follow-up actions to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Respond to and support safety issues reported on the manufacturing floor and/or field service.
  • Support our Global Technical Support team.
  • Regularly work on the manufacturing floor and in cleanroom environments alongside technicians to diagnose and resolve system issues

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields (e.g. Systems) required.

Experience

  • 3 years experience as an Electrical Engineer Hardware Engineer Systems Engineer or Manufacturing/NPI Engineer with strong electrical systems experience or a similar field is required.
  • Experience in crafting technical documentation procedures and engineering reports.
  • Experience in the analysis of data and basic experimental methods test protocols and procedures.
  • Proven experience participating in and leading technical projects and managing multi-functional projects.
  • Experience developing and deploying new products into a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Practical Process Improvements (PPI) including cost reduction by workflow or design improvements.
  • Experience in reviewing data and driving improvements that affect quality.
