Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Connex Systems Software Developer specializing in payment processing solutions. This role is integral to enhancing and maintaining Connex-based applications that support financial institutions payment transactions. The successful candidate will contribute to the organizations digital transformation initiatives by developing reliable efficient and compliant software solutions. Software Requirements
Overall Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and enhance Connex solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and implement reliable and scalable software solutions within the Connex platform.
- Participate fully in the software development lifecycle including coding testing deployment and documentation.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support and resolve issues related to Connex applications.
- Design new features and contribute to the architecture of existing systems to improve performance compliance and usability.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to relevant industry standards security protocols and best practices.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and innovation in payment processing solutions.
Technical Skills (By Category)
- Programming Languages:
- Required: TAL/pTAL TACL COBOL
- Preferred: Modern scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python Java) for automation and integration
- Databases/Data Management:
- Required: SQL/MX Enscribe
- Preferred: Familiarity with data modeling query optimization and performance tuning
- Connex Architecture:
- Required: Deep understanding of Connex components (AP TH PI SDX) and message flow
- Standards Compliance:
- Required: Knowledge of AS2805 ISO standards and payment processing regulations

Day-to-Day Activities
- Collaborate with business analysts and team members to gather and refine system requirements.
- Design develop and test software modules for payment systems using Connex architecture.
- Conduct code reviews perform debugging and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Document technical specifications configuration details and troubleshooting procedures.
- Regularly liaise with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet compliance performance and security standards.
- Participate in team meetings agile ceremonies and technical knowledge sharing sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
- Certifications related to payment systems software development or Connex systems are preferred.
- Regular engagement in professional development and upskilling activities to stay current with technological advancements.
