This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.


Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way Raleigh NC 27606 - Wake County with the Department of Health and Human Services.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.45(Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Effective July 1 2025 candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge Skills and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences:

  • Provide administrative support to HR Business Partners including scheduling meetings preparing reports presentations and correspondence and managing records on the HR Business Partners behalf.
  • Managing HR documentation such as job descriptions organizational charts and policy updates.
  • Tracks and provides details and/or status updates of various HR requests (ex. class/comp OM recruitment etc.).
  • Follows up on AskHR requests.
  • Completes requests for verbal employment verifications.
  • Completes Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) requests.
  • Assists with planning and execution of HR-related events and workshops.
  • Assists employees managers and the general public with miscellaneous questions and directs them to the appropriate staff or self-service portal as needed.
  • Submits requests for assistance (tickets) with DHHS technology systems (ServiceNow SharePoint etc.).
  • Attends meetings with/for HRBP to gather information and serve as scribe for meeting notes for distribution.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
