Job Summary
The Associate Director Academic Technology under general direction troubleshoots integrates and supports a variety of academic software and database applications with a particular focus on learning management systems and related tools and power links/building blocks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Director of Academic Technology on staffing-related activities such as hiring supervising mentoring training scheduling and performance management of office staff.
Develops and directs the activities of technology support services for campus computer labs virtual environments and classroom technology as well as audio/video systems deployed in campus spaces such as conference rooms and event spaces.
Instructs and assists customers in the design development and implementation of cross-platform multimedia instructional materials web pages presentations slides posters and other static media.
Develops and directs the monitoring gathering and reporting of student faculty and staff computing requirements including the research evaluation and testing of technology solutions and the implementation of chosen solutions.
Ensures the highest quality of service is delivered to faculty staff and students by planning collecting data and assessing the performance of the academic technology services.
Represents academic technology operations and advocates for the end-user on the University-wide platforms and committees.
Develops or assists in the development and implementation of rules regulations procedures and standard practices for academic technology.
Consults and leads faculty and/or staff with sound instructional design to include accessibility and quality of course materials.
Manages course design and development projects. Administers and maintains online development courses/resources.

Additional Responsibilities
Coordinates and maintains the inventory of instructional technology equipment available for checkout and ensures proper tracking and management of those resources.
Assigns instructional designers workloads at the beginning of each semester using WebFocus reports and other institutional data sources to ensure equitable distribution of projects and support requests.
Assists the Director in the development coordination and reporting of departmental assessment instruments used to evaluate academic technology services and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Education Bachelors degree in Business Management Information Systems Education Instructional Technology and/or related fields.
Experience Eight years of related experience including positions of management in information technology or related fields.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Masters degree preferred in Instructional Technology Curriculum & Instruction Computing and Information Services (CIS) or related field.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Standards of quality in online education such as Quality Matters.
Ability to:
Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent written communication analytical interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
Online course design principles and practices.
Learning Management Systems instructional technologies and Quality Assurance rubrics. word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
eLearning and distributed instruction software.
Working knowledge of AI Generative Tools.
Licensing / Professional Certification Quality Matters Facilitator

Salary: $63981.00/annually
